On Thursday afternoon, at the LCNI Conference in Telford, Jon Hennah of the National Grid will be presenting the results of our latest collaboration project. This centred on predicting damage by wind and ice to overhead lines in order to manage and extend asset life, thus enabling huge cost savings. The project has already been published as a case study in the National Grid's Annual Innovation Report, and we are very pleased to have it recognised by LCNI and included in the conference programme. Our MD Rob Sunderland and R&D Manager Filiberto Braglia will be attending the conference on Wednesday and Thursday and will be available to discuss our work.
Friday takes us on to Amsterdam, to attend the 4th Annual Asset Management Forum for Distribution System Operators, where Jonathan Fox of SPEN will be introducing the innovation project we are working on with them to understand how weather patterns affect power demand at a local level. The aim of the project is to separate the underlying demand trends caused by improvements such as modern insulation and low energy appliances from weather related effects allowing SPEN to determine long term trends, identify patterns and create usage forecasts accordingly.
If you will be attending either of these conferences and would like to take the opportunity to speak to us, please call the office on 0117 21040405 or email firstname.lastname@example.org We look forward to hearing from you!
