European Power Forecasting at Bloomberg's 'European Power and Gas Summer Outlook' seminar.

European Power Forecasting’s Managing Director, Rob Sunderland, was recently invited to speak at Bloomberg’s ‘European Power & Gas Summer Outlook’ client seminar. Rob joined a group of Bloomberg staff to discuss issues affecting the European Power & Gas markets and offer opinions about how the market will develop this summer. The seminar was well attended, with over 80 Bloomberg users listening to the presentation and joining in for the Q&A session.

The event was hosted in impressive style in Bloomberg’s Auditorium at their current European HQ. The speakers used the same stage on which David Cameron announced the EU membership referendum! None of the speakers could quite match that speech for impact but the content was of an extremely high quality!

After introducing the company to the attendees, Rob presented a summary of what European Power Forecasting Ltd. will be providing through the Bloomberg terminal. We have an extensive programme and will be offering renewable generation forecasts for 11 countries throughout Europe by the end of next April.  Rob also gave a brief overview of how we prepare our forecasts and posed some questions to the audience on where forecast accuracy really matters. Finally, Rob gave a detailed breakdown of the performance of the renewable generation models for France that are currently available.

Trying to understand where our forecasts matters most to Bloomberg users prompted some interesting discussions in the drinks reception afterwards.
